Sammie Ascher

Hello! My name is Sammie Ascher, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern at Liberty University. I am dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate challenges, build resilience, and achieve meaningful personal growth.

I utilize Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthy coping skills, recognize their strengths, and work toward meaningful goals. I believe each client is an expert on their own life, and I strive to create a collaborative, supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered.

I am passionate about working with children ages 5 and older through adulthood. I have experience supporting individuals who are neurodivergent, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, reactive attachment disorder, low self-esteem, behavioral concerns, substance use challenges, and life transitions. I also have worked with youth involved in the foster care system and military-connected families. For younger clients, I incorporate creative, developmentally appropriate interventions that encourage emotional expression, confidence, problem-solving, and healthy coping skills. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges, build on their strengths, and develop the tools they need to thrive. Whether you are seeking support for yourself or your child, I am committed to making the therapeutic process a positive and meaningful experience that fosters healing, hope, and lasting growth.
