“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.” Brené Brown

“The journey back to health and vitality is anything but immediate. Any step, however small, is significant and noteworthy.” Peter A. Levine.

Deeply passionate about helping people come home to themselves—body, mind, and heart.

I believe that true healing lies in integration, not just insight. I bring a client-centered, relational approach to therapy, rooted in nervous system regulation, attachment attunement, and emotional embodiment. Healing doesn’t come from trying to fix what’s “wrong,” but from gently reconnecting with the parts of ourselves we’ve had to hide in order to cope. Together, we’ll not only explore your patterns, but also practice new ways of being so healing becomes something you can feel, not just understand. Whether you’re moving through trauma, life transitions, or relationship struggles, I’ll meet you with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for the wisdom you already carry.

Education:

Marissa holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Style:

Integrative, trauma-informed, and client-centered. My approach is relational and somatic, blending nervous system work, parts work (IFS), and attachment theory to support real, lasting change.

Hobbies:

When I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll probably find me outside! Running, working out, or soaking up some sunshine. I love traveling, live music, and getting lost in a good book. My greatest adventures (and best teachers) are my two kids, ages 12 and 14. I’m also a big fan of strong coffee, deep conversations, and an unapologetic love for Diet Dr Pepper.

Specialties:

Ages 18+ I work with individuals navigating a wide range of experiences, including trauma, addiction, eating disorders, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, and identity exploration. Whether you’re struggling with emotional regulation, self-esteem, or simply feeling stuck I offer a warm, grounded space to explore what’s beneath the surface, with compassion and curiosity. I’m LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, and committed to body-positive, inclusive care. My clinical work is also informed by personal recovery and a deep respect for each client’s unique path toward healing.
