Style:

Kayla focuses on the relationship between herself and her client to provide a safe environment to support the client in being their most authentic self to reach their goals. Kayla values trust, honesty, communication, consistency and self-compassion. Her approach is rooted in humanistic-based theories and often incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support self-discovery and healing. With children ages 3–10, she primarily uses Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) to help kids express themselves and build healthy coping skills. Kayla also integrates Expressive Arts, Sandtray, Music in

Therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

(including Exposure and Response Prevention) to meet the unique needs of each client.  In all her work, Kayla emphasizes the importance of self-compassion, encouraging clients to approach themselves with kindness as they grow and heal.

Education:

Kayla is a master’s level therapist working towards full licensure as an LPC-MHSP and RPT. She received her B.S. in Psychology from The University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and received her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Play Therapy specialization from Lipscomb University.

Hobbies:

Kayla enjoys spending her free time with friends and family. Reading, going on walks, trying new restaurants, shopping, coloring, binge watching reality TV are also some of Kayla’s favorite things to do!

Specialties:

Kayla works with both children and adults, offering support through life’s challenges at every stage. She is especially passionate about helping children and parents strengthen their relationships, supporting women throughout different stages of life and guiding young adults through the transition into adulthood.
