My name is Morgan Okorn and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. While I lived in Connecticut for much of my life, I practiced as a therapist for about 5 years in North Carolina before I moved to Tennessee in 2022. My approach is person-centered and strengths-based. In working with children, teens, and young adults, I pull from many different modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, and mindfulness practices. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I strive for all who enter my sessions to feel safe, valued, and heard. With this foundation, so much is possible. Our work together will be individualized to meet your personal goals and build on your strengths (or finding them if you are feeling unsure of what they are). Each person comes with their own unique set of experiences and strengths, and I feel that the treatment process needs to reflect and honor that individuality to not only be effective, but to be authentic and enjoyable.
I believe that we are all doing the best we can with the skills we have. With an open mind, therapy is an opportunity to expand your skillset and build confidence in your ability to cope with life’s many challenges.
“When you do what feels hard, you learn that you have the ability to do hard things. You don’t just stumble upon courage, you cultivate it.” – Mel Robbins
