Welcome to the Connect Counseling Center Internship Experience
Thank you for your interest in our internship program! At Connect Counseling Center, we take pride in fostering the growth of future mental health professionals. Ongoing education is one of our core values, and we are excited to share our knowledge and collaborate with the next generation of therapists.
Our program is designed to provide interns with a holistic view of private practice counseling, including direct client care, clinical supervision, and the business and leadership skills necessary to thrive in the mental health field. We aim to cultivate a supportive, hands-on learning environment that helps you excel as a clinician.
What We Offer
Our internship program provides a well-rounded experience that includes:
- Comprehensive Supervision
- At least one hour of individual supervision per week.
- Group supervision opportunities with staff therapists to enhance collaboration and learning.
- Clinical Practice and Training
- Gain clinical hours through triage, individual counseling, and group counseling.
- Learn to use a customizable electronic medical records platform.
- Develop competency in standardized national assessment tools.
- Professional Development
- Access to training opportunities tailored to professional growth.
- Build skills in written and verbal communication, clinical diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Exposure to marketing, outreach, and leadership strategies for running a private practice.
Expectations and Requirements
Commitment
- Practicum Students:
- 10 available client hours per week.
- 5 administrative hours per week.
- Internship Students:
- 15 available client hours per week.
- 5 administrative hours per week.
Minimum Commitment
We prefer a commitment of at least two semesters to ensure a thorough learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care.
- Facilitate groups and workshops (as opportunities arise).
- Contribute to the practice blog and assist with front desk duties.
- Occasionally engage in social media management.
Application Deadlines
Applications are accepted for the following semesters:
- Fall Semester(Start in August) – Applications due by April 1.
- Spring Semester(Start in January) – Applications due by October 1.
- Summer Semester(Start in May/June) – Applications due by February 1.
