Lauren Schaefer

Lauren is passionate about helping people feel less alone in the challenges they face. She believes that everyone deserves a space where they can be fully themselves, without judgment, pressure, or the expectation of having everything figured out. Whether clients are navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling stuck, Lauren is committed to creating a supportive environment where healing and personal growth can take place.

In session, Lauren brings a calm, collaborative, and down-to-earth approach. She believes that healing doesn’t come from having all the answers, it comes from feeling safe enough to ask the questions. She values getting to know each client’s unique story and works together with them to build on their strengths, develop practical tools, and create meaningful, lasting change. Above all, Lauren believes that you are the expert on your own life, and therapy is a space where your voice and experiences matter.

Lauren earned her undergraduate degree from University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a double major in English and Psychology before receiving her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Auburn University. Style:

Lauren practices from a trauma-informed perspective and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) interventions to create an individualized treatment approach for each client. Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys getting lost in a good book, writing, caring for her growing collection of plants and flowers, planning her next travel adventure, and finding the perfect local coffee shop for an iced latte. She believes that making time for the things that bring joy and balance is an important part of overall well-being.
