Karrigan Bludworth

Intro

I believe my job as a counselor is to be a guiding hand on the therapeutic journey that requires vulnerability, bravery, and self-compassion. It is a beautiful thing to take the time and energy to invest in yourself in this busy life, but it can feel overwhelming and even scary at times. I invite and encourage you to take the first step to reach out, so I can help you be the person you want to be, determined by no one else but yourself. We will collaborate together to define goals, adapt when needed, and celebrate progress. I strive to do this by approaching each client with nonjudgmental curiosity, kindness, and warmth with a touch of humor and challenge.

Education

Karrigan is currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lipscomb University, specializing in play therapy. She received a dual bachelor’s degree from Cumberland University in Psychology and Criminal Justice.

Style

Karrigan works from an attachment-based orientation pulling from a blend of perspectives such as existential, narrative, somatic, and trauma-informed. She believes every client has a unique story that deserves a safe space where they can express themselves and feel heard and seen, so she aims to approach each client with gentle curiosity and empathy. She is interested in working from a wide range of modalities such as EMDR, EFT, IFS, play therapy, and sand tray therapy to tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs. She also believes psychoeducation can sometimes be a key piece to understanding the why and help thoughts feel less overwhelming and powerful.

Hobbies

In her free time, Karrigan likes to go to the gym, enjoy the quiet of nature, and be creative through painting, crafting, and baking. She will always have my dog, Chance, with her as her partner in camping, paddle boarding, and hiking. On rainy days, she love to curl up with a book, sometimes an interesting psychology book, but most often a fun romance novel.
