Roux is a three-year-old Chihuahua/German Shepherd Mix certified through Dog Training Elite. Roux will be working alongside our therapist, Rachel Burchfiel, AMFT, as a therapy dog in sessions. Recently certified as a therapy dog, Roux has been preparing for this role for quite some time, completing obedience training and earning her AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification.
Roux’s story is as special as the comfort she brings. She was found in a conex yard in Romania during Rachel’s husband’s deployment in 2022. With the help of Puppy Rescue Mission, Roux made her way home and has been spreading love ever since.
She may come in a small package, but Roux has a big story and an even bigger heart. She loves long walks, being out in nature, and soaking up as many pets as she can. In session, Roux offers a calm, grounding presence and a gentle reminder that connection, safety, and healing can come in many forms.
