Ellen is currently working towards her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Grand View University. She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Social Justice from Belmont University.

Ellen’s therapeutic style is influenced by her own therapeutic model called Empowered Choice Counseling Model grounded in: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Reality Therapy / Choice Theory, Person-Centered Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy.
She believes clients thrive when they understand their patterns, develop self-compassion, and recognize the power of their choices. Her approach supports clients in understanding their internal world, strengthening coping skills, and building emotional and behavioral flexibility.
Hobbies:
Outside of Ellen’s clinical work, she is inspired by creativity, travel, and learning. She loves exploring new places (including upcoming travels to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand), appreciating art, and enjoying quiet moments with her two cats, Bee and Poe.
